  • Impact report
  • Case statement infographic

In response to COVID-19’s unequal impact across California, the Public Health Institute created Together Toward Health (TTH), a statewide effort to reduce transmission by funding trusted local organizations serving Black, Latinx, Native American, immigrant, and low-income populations.

Their most immediate need was to update funders on how things were going, what were the emerging needs that TTH was seeing on the ground, and spotlighting the lifesaving impact that this work was making.

Design Work

Materials I created in support of these needs included:

Monthly Funder Newsletters

An ongoing newsletter series to communicate updates and impact

“Sizzle Reel”

A short video showcasing TTH’s impact through testimonials from grantees and funders

Impact Report

An impact report that highlighted the key learnings from TTH that could benefit the public health and philanthropy fields. The report was developed for digital viewing on Issuu (no longer availalable online but the report PDF can be viewed here)

Presentation Deck

Presentations preparing TTH for speaking opportunities, such as at the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting.

Design Approach

Across all deliverables, the goal was to:

  • Make complex information easier to understand
  • Elevate community impact through storytelling
  • Maintain a polished, cohesive visual system

Impact

The materials helped keep funders informed throughout the pandemic, and ended up contributing additional grant dollars beyond the initial commitment. They also equipped the TTH team with clear, presentation-ready storytelling tools to share their learnings with broader public health audiences, including national partners.
